Versus: Let the Right One In VS Let Me In

Well, what can be said. I like Let Me In ...but Let the Right One In is superior.

First, since Let Me In is the new kid on the block I will start with it...The story is parallel to the original with only a few changes and a little less character development. I thought that it was a good movie but it had a slow pace and reveled too much about the story in the beginning ...causing what I  call "long movie dull drums" for some of the audience. I hated the CGI in the movie...Hated it. There is nothing worse then the jerky unrealistic body movements to destroy a girl  suspension of disbelief. The acting by the young leads was good. Really if you want to see the story in it's best light...buck up and rent the orignial ...subtitiles and all.

Let the Right One In
The story is well told and the acting is fantastic  ....yes the leads are like 12 years old , but there is a sweet innocence that translates very well in this film, While there is horror in this film .. and in this story... At it's core it is a love story.
The effects and action that there is in this film are subtle and startling... all at the same time. You can believe that this things are taking place because nothing is too outside the realm of disbelief. The director took care with this...so when the bigger action sense comes..they have a strong impact. I greatly recommend this film. It is a film that lingers in the mind...it is sweet and disturbing all at once. The trailer is below..

The Walking Dead

So I have a confession. I am a Zombie freak. They are my "Monster of Choice".  Those vile undead are the thing that goes bump in the night for me. My most recent evolution in this obsession is.."The Walking Dead" graphic novels. One of my friends introduced me to the series...Thanks Bundy...and well.. I am in love with it. The novels are fantastic and though the Zombie Apocolypse sets the stage....the living are the real unpredictable menace and drama of the novels. The moral and ethical dilemma that the characters face make one wonder ..what they would do in the same situation. What would you do to survive? And with the world turned on its head...Who would you become in the process of trauma and survival?
The series has some awesome anti-heroes and villains. I don't think that I can say there are any heroes cause no one's hands are clean in"The Walking Dead"...not even the children.....yeah it gets rough in between those pages. My favorite character is Michonne...I think it is a "girl power"thing...but she is an superb character and she gets the job done 100% of the time. Nothing like a sword welding woman.

Now that you know about my little rotten addiction, imagine my enthusiasm when I discovered that AMC...(the slow ass kicker of HBO) is adapting "The Walking Dead" graphic novels into "The Walking Dead" television series....I literally jumped up and down....don"t judge. I love it when things come to life like this...at least until they suck....then I hate them with an evil dirty passion. I hope they do the novels justice...there are great stories to be told in the series and this has the potential to be a Zombie epic....as the novels..in my eyes anyways...already are. You know honestly it could be more the a Zombie Epic....if they do this right...this series will just be plain old ...all american....Epic

If you get a chance...watch the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg46DWI_fCE ..The series starts Halloween night ...

DEVIL ...review

Was it the greatest film ever made? NO ....was is pretty good...almost. I liked Devil. I could have waited to see it on cable...but some of the bigger scenes like the intro and the guy committing suicide look nice on the big screen(as nice as suicide can look i guess, haha). It is fun and I laughed more then anything. I think that my problem with it is that you dont care about the charaters or if they die....only thing i was trying to do was to figure out who the Devil was, which i guessed right but I am not into spoilers so.. I will not tell you who that is...
There are places that this film could have gone, could have had more of a message, could have developed the characters a little more to draw out the movie and make you wonder a little more. I really don't care by the end...but it was fun and it makes you think about the Devil when you go home....lol....cause that is what you want to think about when you go home.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

So you hear that they are remaking a 1973 TV movie, first thought, that is going to suck a lot ...and then something else happens......You heard the name of the people attached to the film and all your doubts melt away. Guillermo del Toro is the writer/producer of the up and coming film...Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. The film is based ,as stated before, on a 1973 TV movie.
Tonight I went to see Devil, which is my next blog, and during the trailers in the dark you hear a voice whispering to you ...getting louder and slowly preparing you for what is next. Well, i wont tell you all, but it is an awesome trailer and i think that it just might end up being a cult classic. I am happy to see a return to more psychological horror and thriller movies, rather then blood and gore scares, and I am greatly looking forward to this film. There is a link below to watch the trailer...i suggest you watch it is the dark and on full screen. Oh and remember....Don't Be Afraid of the Dark.(cheesy...i know)
